Structural painting - Mixed technics on canvas 

 

This work was inspired by a slightly darker period ... One day, when we came home, my spouse and I noticed some nicks made with a knife that crisscross the interior of the house. It was only after several questions that we understood that one of our sons, then pre-teen, was the victim of harassment at school and in the street where we lived.

Steps were taken and our son has done well, but this gesture was neither more nor less than a reflection of deep distress and that is what I wanted to express here. This bubbling, this inner rage, this spark that, unfortunately, in some cases leads to self-mutilation.
